Here is the link for information on books on tape for the blind. Being able to listen to books has be wonderful. I also like to listen to podcast on iTunes. Most public libraries offer a service to download books and movies directly to your MP3 players. You have to be a card holder to receive this service. The picture above is the new digital tape player offered.
When I first lost my sight cooking was a big challenge. We had just moved so I had an electric stove with a flat top. It's is exactly what I recommend. I spilled over many posts of pasta, pored outside of the pot....I only have vision in one eye so I had to adjust to not having depth perception. My husband and sons cook most of the time but we love our flat to
p stove. We can clean the spills up unlike a gas stove.
