I started beading in summer of 2002 after a sweet friend Leslie suggested it. She is an amazing creative person. She can make just about anything with her hands. My favorite are her cakes. I have jumped back into beading after a small break. I will be posting my creations on my other blog busybeadjewelry.blogspot.com
Beading is my way of relaxing and keeping my mind creative. I love making things I can wear and other can enjoy. When you have a disability you need something you can do you can be proud of.

BOOKS I HAVE READ
I listen to many inspirational books on tape which I get from the state library. I am going to list some on the ones that are worth reading whether you are blind, low vision, or sighted. The first is Touch the top of the world a blind man's journey to climb farther than the eye can see by Erik Weihenmayer. There was a movie by the same name several years ago. I have listed his website above. He has never let his sight hold him back from living life to the fullest.

EYE APPOINTMENT
I went for my four month check up for my eyes. I was so ready to throw my glasses in the trash. I can't see out of them. The wonderful staff in the glasses shop helped me out. They said to wash my lens with cloth and rubbing alcohol. They gave them a tune-up too. When I saw the doctor he said all the fancy films they put on glasses now are more trouble to see with, at least in my case. I have 20/150 corrected. I can't see much past 20 feet. They also had a great selection of reading glasses. I wear a 3.00 and the have up to a 3.50 which I have never seen in person before. Thank you so much to the staff at Eye Physician & Surgeons of Augusta.
